A TORQUAY website company has forged a partnership with a multi-millionaire Dragons’ Den star.
Internet design and marketing studio, Createanet is working with Shaf Rasul, one of the new entrepreneurs enlisted for the online version of the reality TV programme.
The company, which recently expanded into larger offices on Torquay’s harbourside, has been working with the multimillionaire and is now his preferred website design partner.
Createanet has so far completed two websites through the working partnership with Shaf — one for Giles Bury of Qwikgoal who made an unsuccessful pitch in the Dragons’ Den (www.qwikgoal.com) and a personal website for Shaf.
Shaf explained: “One of my investments from the Dragons’ Den was based in Torquay and so I needed to find a website company in the area and Createanet was recommended.

“Kevin came to see us and did a stunning presentation. I was totally blown away and decided Createanet was definitely the right company for the job.”
The website studio was given a tight timescale to complete the project in time for the online showing of the Dragons’ Den episode.
Createanet founder, Kevin King, said: “We had a very tough schedule in order to complete the site but Giles and Shaf were very pleased with the result.”
After an unsuccessful pitch on Dragons’ Den, Qwikgoal has managed to secure a distribution deal with Ebuyer.com, one of the countries leading e-retailers, thanks in part to the website.
And Shaf, who made his millions in property and computers, was so pleased with the website, he has since asked Createanet to complete his own personal website.
He said: “I was very impressed with the work carried out. Createanet is now my preferred supplier — the work is absolutely stunning, that’s the only way I can describe it. Kevin has a great team in Torquay and I will definitely continue to use them.”
And he said the distance between them — Shaf is based in Edinburgh — hasn’t proved to be a problem at all.
He added: “Kevin jumps on a plane and it doesn’t take very long to get here. I’ve received unbelievable service from Createanet. Kevin is very commercial and also very creative with lots of ideas. It’s a great combination.”
Kevin said: “Shaf’s got so many ideas. We get on very well, he’s inspirational to work with and as a fan of Dragons’ Den this is very exciting on a personal level as well. We’re talking about various future projects so will see what happens.”
Shaf has invested £30,000 with Alex Foreman of Torquay for his Ladder Buddy invention.
