TORQUAY’S Shoot Out Club has dramatically increased its trade thanks to online booking.
Rachel Bourke and Brian Pengelly opened the company in Vaughan Parade in 1994 to cater for a demand in team activity holidays for adults. They now run skittles, darts and netball weekends.
They have teamed up with local website design and marketing studio Createanet to create an online presence.
Rachel said: “Being able to take online bookings was a huge step forward for us. We’re now planning to link up with YouTube and Facebook and add video to the site.”
The partnership has proven so successful that they are now using Createanet to design and build a website for their second niche business, GasketGuy which supplies gaskets and fridge seals.

“People never know where to go for stuff like this and it’s proving to be very popular,” said Rachel.
GasketGuy is part of an American franchise and the only business of its kind in the UK.
It is able to custom manufacture seals and gaskets for commercial refrigeration faster and cheaper than anyone else.
“There are loads of appliances out there that people can’t get replacement parts for as they’re too old or the company doesn’t make them any more. Createanet is helping us give solutions to those who need it,” said Rachel.
Torquay-based Createanet was set up by Kevin King 10 years ago and since then has endeavoured to continue to serve local clients.
Rachel said: “The guys were able to get inside our heads and give us exactly what we needed. They are brilliant at taking our scribbles and making it into a reality.”
