Despite the current economic doom and gloom, in the past 12 months tradecounterdirect.co.uk has launched an updated version of its highly successful online tool shop to achieve record sales and traffic.
Director Reid Archer made the finals of the 2010 Digital Entrepreneur Awards in the category of Young Digital Entrepreneur. As the only national awards dedicated to internet entrepreneurs, they are very popular with hundreds of entries from industries across the web. Since only five per cent of entrants reaching the final stage, the team at Trade Counter Direct are proud of Reid’s achievement. Reid, 29, has been with The Select Group of Companies Ltd, Trade Counter Direct’s parent company, for six years. He was integral in the launch of the website five years ago and in its continued design, development and sales growth.
Reid manages a growing team dedicated to making the company a major player in the online tool market. He is also responsible for managing the company’s close relationship with long-term web developers Createanet, who constructed the new site.
Group MD, Alan Archer, recent winner of the 2010 Torbay Together Awards Entrepreneur of Year said: “The new site looks fantastic and we’re pleased with the post-launch results with record traffic and sales, but the increase was expected. Trade Counter Direct.com has gone from strength to strength with an average annual growth rate of 75 per cent year on year for the past three years and it shows no sign of waning.”
