Letās rewind to the 90s, where if you asked a business if they had a website, chances are you would hear something like āI donāt need one of themā fast forward to 2023 and every business has a site, itās almost a given. So in 2023 if I ask you as a business owner, do you have an app? What would your response be?
Times change, people change but most importantly customer expectations change.
There’s never been a better time to have an app. The power to directly grab a user’s attention by sending a notification to their phone is unmatched.
You’re probably thinking how an app would benefit your business and what would your app even provide. Now there’s thousands of business categories but the foundations of an app are usually the same. For example take a section called news, a listing of updates sent to the users account. If you break this down its notifying a user of something new, as a coffee shop that could be a new flavour of the month, as a clothing shop that could be a new sale, a wedding venue could showcase a new update they have made to the venue, you get the point, it’s about taking some of the basic ideas and applying them to your business.
There’s plenty of ideas you can add to an app that’s not just news, loyalty for example, could you provide a scheme where when a customer purchases 5 items they get their 6th free?
Could you showcase your work in a gallery?
Would a click and collect style model benefit your customers? Pay upfront and select a collection time to collect any type of product, it could be art supplies, a breakfast roll or a dress for a spontaneous night out.
Even my window cleaner has an app, where I can see availability, make a booking and pay directly via the app.
If you are a company who are more B2B or business to business, then what everyday tasks could be replaced by an app. If you send clients documents that need signing frequently, then build an app for that, send and notify them that there’s a document they need to sign in their account, even add the ability to sign the document inside the app itself.
Notify users of outstanding invoices, get paid directly via the app.
Here at Createanet we build apps and websites for all sorts of businesses and you could ask why we would need an app? We built our app from the ground up and based it on what we can provide to our clients. All clients who join us receive an account which they can login to the Createanet support app with and we can update them on progress of their projects, give updates on news, provide all agreement documentation and clients can sign them in the app. Plus FAQs and more.
I hope this has sparked some ideas and how you could get started with an app for your business. If you would like to have a chat with a member of the team about how we can build you an app for your business, drop use a call using the details above.
