Today i’m going to talk you through the typical app journey and break it down to the 4 main stagesÂ
Now please note this could be different depending on which company you go with but I can speak for Createanet so let’s go.Â
The 4 main stages are:
- Building your brief/quote
- Prototype and design
- Development
- Testing and review
The journey starts with your brief and the creation of your quote. Under an NDA you will share and discuss the idea for your app. We will then work with you to flush out all that the project will need, such as an admin area to manage the apps content from a web portal. Of course the more you want to add the higher the price becomes so don’t lose track of the core reason for the app, remember the problem it’s trying to solve initially.
Now you have signed up to the quote you then begin the prototype and design stage, now this is where we can have some fun and bring the idea to life. The team will take your agreed quote and build your initial wireframe. This is typically a black and white prototype that will show you all the screens of your app with places of interaction.
Once your prototype is done it’s time to demo it to you and provide you with a few days to provide feedback. Once your feedback is received, we then update the prototype and repeat. You can provide as many rounds of feedback to the prototype as you like, though you have a set agreed amount of revisions in your quote, so it’s good to be thorough with your feedback.Â
This process then repeats for the designs, where we take the wireframe and apply additional design, logos and colour palette.Â
By the end of this stage you would have an interaction prototype and a full set of designs and you’re ready to sign off and move into development.Â
We provide our developers with a full project plan, prototype and designs to then work their magic and make your app a reality. This stage is not as back and forth compared to the prototype stage, but we provide weekly updates via the Createanet support app, so you can keep up to date with progress. During this phase we will get you to focus on providing content ready for launch, like your terms and conditions for example, or your app store content like description.
Once your app is built it’s time to test. We test and go through numerous rounds of feedback with our team to iron out any bugs or issues. After the app passes the quality control it’s over to you. You can finally get your hands on the app you’ve been thinking about everyday. You can spend some time with the app making sure you are happy, then when we get the green light it’s off to the stores for launch.
So that’s a brief summary of the journey your app will go through, from idea to reality.Â
