A new website dedicated to promoting Torquay as a conference destination has been unveiled by the resorts Riviera International Conference Centre.
The new site which has been designed by South Devon company Createanet is part of a four stage plan which aims to cover all areas of the RICC’S business including leisure and dining.
The new site specifically relates to conferences, meetings, exhibitions and banquets and has taken several months to complete because of the huge amount of research and work involved.
Managing director Barry Cole explained: “There is so much to the Centre’s business and we really had to focus on how we could separate all these areas out to ensure they reach the right customer sector“. The information includes conference facilities and services and is aimed at encouraging more companies to hold their annual meetings and conferences at the RICC. We already have a website for the leisure side of the business where the public can obtain information on swimming, aerobics and entertainment.”
Mr Cole added: “The new website promotes Torquay as a conference destination and will pull together delegate accommodation booking, residential and unusual conference venues, partner programmes and general area information to assist conference organisers in the arrangement of all aspects of conferencing in Torquay.”
Mr Cole said Paignton based Createanet had been “incredibly supportive and inspirational in the conception of the new initiative” and he was confident that when all the areas have been completed the website will be an invaluable promotional tool.
He added that the Conference Torquay site, also designed and supported by Createanet had already proved to be invaluable, particularly for delegates who can book accommodation online and make numerous other arrangements such as car sharing.
The new conference website is clean and simple and reflects a business image. The site includes detailed information about conference, exhibition and banqueting facilities, where floor plans can be downloaded, how technical data can be obtained and even how updated news stories can be accessed. A detailed client list includes event information, past and present testimonials to further re-iterate how good the RICC is in the business of conferences.
Mr. Cole added: “We are really pleased and excited about the finished product. It’s fresh and business like and covers a huge range of information that is quick and easy to access. We have worked hard to give our clients a strong and informative site and the initial feedback from some of our featured customers has been really complimentary and positive. The websites are in effect live brochures and we will keep our sites fresh and up to date.”
