A Language school has won a national business award with the help of Paignton-based Createanet.
The design studio built a website for the Surrey-based Toniks language school incorporating specially-designed administration systems enabling the business to be run from almost anywhere.
The business has now been voted winner in the Home Business Awards, run by Enterprise Nation, for small businesses based at home.
The head of Toniks, Karen Hollands, explained: “The business was the brainchild of my husband, Mike, who together with the Createanet team devised the website. The site is great and allows us to run our business 24-hours a day.
“The whole administration system was set up specifically for our business and enables us to run Toniks from home. The website allows us to monitor everything which goes on; it also means I can run the business from anywhere. It’s essential.”
The business provides live language lessons over the internet with personalised tuition between teachers and their pupils. The teachers are native to the language they teach and are based in their home countries, teaching from home.
Kevin King, head of Createanet, said he was delighted the site is proving to be so successful and has contributed to the award being won.
He said: “It’s always good to hear success stories. The internet is an essential platform for just about every businesses and it’s particularly pleasing to hear the part Createanet has played in helping a business to grow and become successful.”
