New Search Engine marketing initiatives

New on-line marketing initiatives introduced by a South Devon website company is helping businesses increase their bookings and on-site visits by thousands.

One company which has witnessed a staggering increase thanks to the new Createanet style of marketing is the Fowey Hotel in Cornwall which has seen a massive increase in traffic to its website…rising from approximately 400 visitors a month to over 5000 with a resulting number of additional enquiries.

As a result, the hotel’s owners, Richardson’s Hotels, has commissioned Createanet to apply its unique marketing market strategy to the websites of a further eight of the group’s hotels, including the Grand Hotel at Torquay which was recently voted as ‘commanding one of the best sea views in the world.’

The new marketing techniques are the brainwave the new marketing division of Createanet, the Paignton based website design company which hit the big time many years ago after being commissioned to design sites for American superstar Mel Gibson.

Createanet’s managing director Kevin King recently carried out a major restructure of the company that has seen it move into two new areas…marketing and television commercials. The firm also introduced a new motto “Building Successful Business” guaranteeing companies that it won’t attempt to build a website until it has carried out its homework and analysed the market place to ensure sites attract maximum attention.

The new marketing division has been enjoying enormous success since its launch in July, helping businesses around the country to boost their on site visits – and bookings – by numbers previously considered unreachable.

Kevin explained: “Our brief with the Fowey Hotel – which has an isolated location – was to create a website that would play a major part in the group’s advertising campaign, reach a national audience and create high volumes of enquiries".

“The site needed to promote the hotel’s luxury image, increase its exposure, generate high volumes of potential customers and be fully search engine optimised as part of our on-going marketing strategy.”

Kevin and Createanet implemented their new marketing initiatives and the result has seen the number of potential new customers increase from 380 to over 5000 an increase of 1315 per cent. The number of customers actually booking has also been equally as impressive bringing a new wave of all-the-year-round business for the hotel.

Hotel general manager Andrea Callis said: “The hotel has seen a staggering increase in on-line visitors as well as internet business reaching the same figures as our return guest figures which have always been the biggest revenue generator. More awareness of the importance of internet business has enabled the hotel to creep higher and higher up the search engine listings and I am delighted with the position we currently hold.”

“Createanet has always been extremely professional and helpful and I look forward to continually working with the team,” she added.

As a result of the success, the hotel owners, the Richardson Group, has commissioned Createanet to market the websites for a further eight hotels, including a second in Cornwall, the Idle Rocks Hotel at St Mawes.

The revamped website for the Grand in Torquay will also make the most of the hotel’s recent nomination by travel writers as boasting some of the best sea views in the world. Hotel boss Keith Richardson revealed he had only bought the Grand because of its views claiming they were so spectacular it had only taken him 10 minutes to make the decision.

Another major company benefiting from Createanet’s new marketing initiatives is a local Torbay firm Creative Learning Solutions. After just one month, search engine traffic has increased by 120 per cent.

Kevin King explained: “The internet increasingly offers a wealth of opportunities to companies but as the interest rises so does the volume of competitors websites which makes it crucial for a site to be constantly developed and marketed the correct way.

“Potential internet customers are using more refined search terms and the major search engines are constantly developing new technologies. This will result in a drop in organic (free) website listings on sites that have not been optimised for the new internet environment.”

Kevin added: “Harshly, this means companies whose websites have not been correctly optimised and updated for the new internet environment will lose potential customers. Careful planning and direct targeting is now essential in order to maintain good organic search engine listings.

“It was this new trend that prompted us to create a separate marketing division to enable us to specialise in search engine marketing which will hopefully see us maintain our status as one of the industry’s leading companies.”

Createanet, which currently employs a team of 10 web designers and internet specialists, plans to continue its expansion during 2007 by developing its multi-media department which has already secured its first order for a TV commercial.
