The Torbay and Dartmouth Powerboat School will soon be on the crest of a wave … thanks to local marketing and website design company Createanet.
The popular club which was launched four years ago, specialises in powerboat training and seamanship courses and has just launched a new impressive website with Createanet.
The club, based in Brixham, numerous members and is looking forward to a very busy 2005 having acquired new offices and classroom facilities last year.
The club’s principle and chief instructor, David Hickman, was keen to gain maximum exposure for the club and training centre and approached Kevin King, managing director of Createanet for marketing advice.
Kevin along with artistic director, Carl Billinghurst, have now designed and unveiled the impressive new site which gives a comprehensive insight into the club and its facilities. It features sections on the courses available, club news, boats for sale, membership and contact details as well as the Club Charter.
David explained: “We are very aware that many local companies have benefited from Createanet’s outstanding design work and from the vast experience and skills which it has gained from working for and producing sites for blue chip companies.
“We are delighted with our new site and feel confident it will generate a tremendous amount of interest and business,” he added.
David is an Advanced Powerboat Instructor and Examiner, an RYA Powerboat Trainer, RYA Yachtmaster Motor Instructor, RYA PWC Trainer, RYA SRC Assessor and RYA First Aid Assessor.
He is a member of the Berry Head HM Coastguard Rescue Team based in Brixham which was featured in the BBC Documentary 2004 ‘Danger on the Beach’ and 2005 ‘Seaside Rescue.’
The Torbay and Dartmouth Powerboat School is recognised by the RYA as one of its official training centres in Devon, specialising in all RYA powerboat courses, RYA motor cruising courses, RYA powerboat training to instructor and advanced power instructor level and the RYA personal watercraft competency course.
Shorebase RYA courses include RYA SRC VHF/DSC Radio, RYA First Aid, RYA Sea Survival, RYA Day Skipper and Yachtmaster navigation courses.
For more advanced courses, the club ventures along the South Devon coastline to Teignmouth and Exmouth to the north of Torbay and to Dartmouth, Salcombe and Plymouth in the south. Courses are mainly run from Brixham but can also be accommodated at Dartmouth.
Carl Billinghurst at Createanet said: “Createanet recently moved its head office to Woodland View on the Torbay Business Park where its increased workforce continues to specialise in major contracts around the world as well as look after the needs of businesses throughout Torbay and Devon.”
