One of the most prestigious motor racing magazines is now available online, thanks to South Devon website design studio, Createanet.

Formula One drivers such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be able to read their copies online from now on, thanks to Kevin King and his team at Createanet.

The Torquay harbourside based company won the contract to provide the online version of Race Tech Mag, which is required reading on all aspects of racing car engineering from Formula One to weekend hill climbs.  It’s read by the world’s top motor racing drivers, teams, engineers, hardcore enthusiasts, manufacturers and suppliers.

In addition, the website offers two sister publications, Moto Tech Mag (the only technology led motorcycle engineering magazine in the world), and Bernoulli which deals in road and race car aerodynamics.

‘Our challenge was to provide a good informational website that reflects a glamorous yet highly technical industry,’ said Kevin King.

‘We’ve provided a three tier subscription system online so that readers can sign up for the print magazine, the online version or both.’

Createanet owner Kevin King and his studio manager Paul Garland are motorsports fanatics so it was just the kind of project that they relish.

To celebrate the launch, digital versions of both the preceding months’ issues of Race Tech and Moto Tech can be downloaded for free.  A click of a button can also take readers straight through to advertisers’ own home pages.

‘This has been a massive project for us,’ continued King. ‘We wanted to reflect the mood, quality and cutting edge of the magazine with the online design.  And knowing that the eyes of the international motor racing world will be on us, only added to the pressure to get it absolutely right.’

Magazine owners Racecar Graphic Ltd chose Createanet in devon on recommendation from Geoff Cook of CMA Motorsport Marketing.

The magazine has received plaudits from Formula One industry giants such as Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley. Regular writers include Pat Symonds, former Renault Formula One director of engineering, whose recent article on tyre technology in Race Tech Mag got a mention during the BBC’s live coverage of the Turkish Grand Prix..

No doubt the website will be the subject of great attention at the next World Motor Sports Symposium, which is hosted by the magazine.
