Createanet Moves to Torquay

A PAIGNTON IT firm has been forced to move into bigger offices because the recession is boosting its trade.

Website design and marketing studio Createanet decided to move into new facilities on Torquay Harbourside after outgrowing its offices on the other side of the Bay.

Bosses at the IT firm said the move, which was prompted by an ever-expanding list of clients and new inquiries being received every week, would mean new staff would be taken on.

Kevin King, who founded Createanet and heads the business, said the economic downturn had fuelled Createanet's own business as more companies realise they need to market themselves better using especially through the internet.

Mr King said: "We've been expanding rapidly over the last few years and just simply ran out of space.

"We now have a much bigger office of 2,500sq ft, which we need in order to continue to grow and satisfy our customers' demands.

"The extra room gives us so much potential and means we have room to take on more staff in order to cope with the increase in work we're seeing."

He added: " The office move also means many ideas the team have wanted to pursue will finally be able to come to fruition, making the most of the extra space available including hosting monthly free seminars for businesses across South Devon on all aspects of using websites to the best possible way in your business.

Mr King added: "I'm passionate about the web industry, it's a growing aspect of everyone's lives and imperative for companies to take part.

"I want to be able to help businesses make the most of their website, especially during the difficult economic climate and these seminars will be a great way of giving advice to people on how to make the most of their Internet presence."

Createanet, which currently employs 10 staff, has been based on Woodview Road, Paignton, for the last five years.

Mr King said the increasing workload meant the move into larger premises was long overdue.

He said the upturn in work was due to Createanet's reputation for good customer service and creative designs, which has spread with work being carried out for clients on an international basis.

Createanet has 250 customers and created more than 2,000 websites in the past 10 years.

Some of Createanet's clients include Christine's School of Motoring, Riviera International Conference Centre and events sites such as What's On Southwest.

He added: "The new offices are in a great location, very easily accessible to our clients — both local businesses and those further afield.

"It's great to be back in a high street setting and to have an office which we are proud to show our clients. I'm really excited. It's fantastic to have another success story in Torbay."

Mr King said his creative team will now have plenty to inspire them in the new building especially as the new office was a casino in the sixties.
