Cinema goers across America no longer have to queue for their tickets thanks to a Torbay web design company.
Createanet based in Paignton was approached by Lionsgate Films in Los Angeles to come up with a system that allows people in the States to buy their cinema tickets online. By filling in where they live, users of the website can also find out when and where the film they want to see is showing near them.
The cinema locator and advance ticket sales system is bolted on to the film’s main website so it’s easy to find and simple to use.
“This system is an excellent example of how Createanet works,” said managing director Kevin King. “It’s straightforward, effective and easy to use. You just go to the films website, for example www.sicko-themovie.com , click on the ticket icon and complete the template.”
“This system is an excellent example of how Createanet works …”
Createanet has been working with Lionsgate Films, a leading independent film producer and entertainment distributor, for the last four years. The cinema locator and advance ticket sales system has enabled people to buy tickets online for a variety of films including Open Water and Michael Moore’s controversial films Farenheit 9/11 and Sicko, a film comparing the American healthcare industry to other nations.
Buying cinema tickets online is a growth area in the States,” said Createanet’s Kevin King, “and it’s been great to have been involved in this project from the outset.”
Adrian Sexton from Lionsgate Films was very impressed with the work Kevin and his team did for them. “It looks amazing. You guys are so quick. Great work.”
