Advance Theatre Ticketing Systems

The Brief

We were approached by lionsgate Movies during our involvement in The Passion of The Christ, they wanted a solution to help them broadcast the theatres showing their forthcoming film releases. Due to most of the films having nationwide releases (USA) the system had to be able to scale to all 52 states, all of the towns within those states, then it had to display the theatres showing the current release of the film in those towns.

Our Approach

We approached the problem from graphical point of view, presenting the site visitor with a map of the 52 states of America. When your state is clicked on it displays the towns then lists the theatres in the selected town. The system also features a zip code locater which has the ability to show theatres with a preset number of miles from your home zip code. This is all themed and designed to match the official films web site.

The Result

The system was such a success that we have been working with lionsgate for over 4 years now on most of their nationwide releases.
The system has been used to help promote films such as:

• SAW
• Open Water
• Sicko
• Fahrenheit 9/11
