Mistral Online

The Brief

Mistral was looking to expand their sales into the online marketplace. They currently had an “off the shelf” type website, which allowed for no customisation and displayed their products very poorly. Along with the re-branding project, we were asked to looking into coming up with solutions to allow them not only to display their products in a more intuitive, imaginative and fun way, but also to allow them to eliminate one of the major problems with their on-line growth; this being the ability for the website to talk to their in-house Epos stock control system. Due to the fact that the Mistral clothing range is an exclusive range to Mistral and not manufactured in huge quantities, it was essential that the stock control was implemented.

Our Approach

Based on the re-branding, we used the style and ethos of that brand to create a funky, cool looking website that intuitively displayed their product ranges and allowed easy access to the various products they supplied. Apart from the design we felt that it was key to implement several features within the site that were required for successful online clothing sales.

The first of these was a goods returns system that easily allows the site visitor to return goods online and create a communication channel between them and Mistral to ensure that goods can be safely returned and monies in turn refunded.

Secondly we introduced a product zoom which allows the upload of high resolution images and customers can then zoom in on the exact details of the clothing at any time.

Thirdly a very unique feature of Mistral On-Line is their ability to display outfits, from within their admin area; they can compile complete outfits that are naturally suited to being put together.

The site visitor then has the opportunity to select part or all of an outfit, easily from within the shopping cart side of the website. The website also talks in real time to their Epos system, which means that the stock you see on the website is exactly what is available throughout all of their stores and warehouse.

The Result

Mistral now have a slick on-line store, that is comparative to any of their major brand competitors, with the inclusion of the features detailed above, it provides the customer with a smooth intuitive shopping experience with the customer being confident in the knowledge that if the website says that an item is in stock, then it will be available for dispatch. The site continues to grow in popularity and has shown encouraging growth in its initial months of launch.
