On initial consultation Lorna explained that she had to send her proofs and commissions via email to her clients for approval. This was creating problems with customers’ email boxes and large file downloads, what was therefore needed was an online system which would allow Lorna to post up images, specify that the client was able to view them and assign user name and password credentials to that client.
We built an intuitive system that allows Lorna to create users and upload files directly to her website. These files can then be categorised in terms of shoot dates, etc., and then assigned to individual users. Each individual user who then logs onto the website sees only examples of their photography that Lorna has carried out for them. Using a simple almost cover flow browser type system, the user is able to flick through the photos and order directly online the photo in the size they require. If required the user can also order existing photos in both colour and in black and white. This allows Lorna to accurately track customers’ orders whilst at the same time providing the customer with an online profile of all their commissioned work.
Lorna now has a secure online portfolio area that will scale completely with her customers as their photographic needs grow. It also provides an income source by the fact the customer can order directly on line. Using intuitive technology this site has also been developed in such a way that it can be centralised for the future development of the Bangwallop Studio. Thus effectively the one asset area provides a centralised area for both of the sites, it being seamlessly integrated into both.
