Pathe! Films
Pathe's history is almost as long as that of the film industry itself. French brothers Charles and Emile launched their company in the 1890s and quickly established themselves as pioneers in the film industry. Over the course of the 20th Century the company changed hands many times, and for a time relocated to the US as Europe was ravaged by World War 1. However, it has remained in French hands throughout and is now owned by media magnate Jerome Seydoux and his family. The company now has two head offices: one in Paris, the other in London. The majority of Pathe's businesses are centred in France where its interests span film production and distribution, exhibition (it owns more than 80 theatres in France, the Netherlands and Switzerland), newspapers (including a stake in French left wing newspaper Liberation), TV stations and a stake in French football club Olympique Lyonnais. In the UK, Pathe is a major fixture on the film scene and employs 45 people out of its London HQ. Deputy managing director Cameron McCracken calls the company 'the only remaining mini-studio in the country, encompassing development, production, distribution and international sales". Createanet provides the distribution and formatting for its newsletter promotion the releases of its major titles.
